2019 Outremer 5X
The Outremer 5X model, designed by VPLP - Van Peteghem Lauriot Prevost (also responsible for the AC45 catamarans), has been praised as a fast performance catamaran offering also comfort and safety and ease of handling. The model was chosen Yacht of the Year 2014 in Europe and the US.
Construction of this Outremer 5X was started in November 2019, but only launched and handed over in autumn 2020. The configuration and build of this owner 3-cabin version with additional crew cabin was performance oriented from day one. The owner chose a wide array of upgrades and extras pre- and post-purchase, such as optimised carbon/vinylester composite hulls with foam core for enhanced stiffness and weight optimisation, longer VPLP designed carbon enforced daggerboards, balanced carbon rudders, rotating carbon mast and boom, a comprehensive North 3Di sails wardrobe, multiple electric 3 and 3-speed winches, 2x raised helm stations & 2x tiller steering positions outside and control of most of the steering from navigation position inside, enhanced deck gear, ultra sonic antifouling system, to name a few. All systems were optimized for short-handed sailing in safety and comfort. While the focus was on performance, the comfort on board is also taken into account: a watermaker, a fully equipped galley, including an additional freezer unit, dishwasher, 8kg washing machine, electric sea and freshwater toilets, additional Ion lithium battery capacity & upgraded solar panels, among other features, make life on board easy and pleasant even during ocean passages .
This extremely well equipped, regularly serviced, upgraded and fully run in nearly new Outremer 5X presents an interesting opportunity to skip the waiting list for a new build. An existing factory warranty will transfer with the vessel to the future owner.
HORIZON can currently be viewed in Spain´s Balearic Islands.
