Mechanical Systems
Located abaft the companionway Volvo 2002 twin cylinder 18hp diesel engine. Sea water cooled. Electric start. Shaft drive to fixed pitch three bladed propeller. Single lever control. 10 gallons fuel capacity in stainless steel tank giving approximately 180 mile range at 6 knots cruising speed. Maximum speed under power 7 knots. The engine has been regularly serviced. A reconditioned water pump was fitted 2003. New propeller, prop shaft, cutless bearing and Deep Sea seal fitted 2006. Full engine rebuild with Volvo recon kit 2007. Alternator charging to 2 x 12 volt batteries. 12 volt distribution panel. New switchgear and wiring 2006. Aerogen wind generator.

Construction
Built in 1981 by Dufour Yachts to a design by German Frers. White GRP hull. White GRP superstructure with moulded non skid decks. Cast iron fin keel. Tiller steering to spade rudder. Aft self draining cockpit. Alloy toe rails. The hull was epoxied below the waterline in 1988. Hull resprayed 2005. Windows removed and rebedded 2008.
Comments
The Dufour 3800 has proved to be an excellent go-anywhere sailing boat with first class performance. The cleverly designed internal layout offers spacious accommodation and vast storage space making her especially suitable as a family boat. This excellent example has been continually upgraded by the present and previous owners and is offered for sale in super condition.
